Completing a Sunlight Inspection
With all of the routing and drilling complete, I
decided to complete a "sunlight inspection" on the guitar. Having been cloistered in the basement for a while now, it would be good to see what the guitar looks like in the light of day. |

Here is the top with all of the holes drilled. More sanding is required, but overall the wood looks really nice. | |
Other than the big knot on the back, the wood's
grain is really pretty. Note - Look how much lighter the neck is than the body. Keep this in mind with mahogany -- there are many varieties and some are much redder than others. Both the neck and body are Honduras Mahogany, but the color is different. |
