Shaping the Neck

Now, the shaping of the neck must be completed.   Here are the rough cut body and neck -- just note that the headstock shaped is roughed-in.
Remember -- at this point the neck to body joint is done.  The next step is to shape the neck heel and the nut area.  I clamped the neck into the workbench and started shaping.  I had a template made from an old Les Paul neck -- this would be the guide for the neck shape.

Rasp, check, rasp, check.  While it appears tedious, the rough shaping gets the neck to its general dimensions.
