Shaping the Body

Using a sanding bit chucked into my drill press, I cleaned up the edges of the body.  I used a plywood template taped on the body with carpet tape to keep the sanding within the lines.  Once the body was completely shaped I rounded over the corners of the body using a 1/4" roundover bit in my router.

Be careful about routing around the neck pocket area -- you can really screw this up.  Also, make sure you do the roundover prior to drilling the hole for the jack.

Lesson Learned:  Don't use a router bit without a bearing.  The cheap roundovers with just a smooth post as a guide is not the way to go.
