Gluing the Fingerboard
A high-tech glue pot? No... a Euro-Mr. Coffee. Note that hot glue is in small jar in the larger pot, and I have a thermometer at the ready to make sure the hot glue is hot. | |
Per the Stewmac instructions, cover the trussrod
with masking tape prior to gluing. Once the glue is on, rip the tape off and place
the fingerboard in place. Note: This is why alignment pegs are so important to properly align the neck and fingerboard. If you try to do this freehand it will be very, very difficult. |

The fingerboard, glued to the neck blank.
Lots of clamps, and a radius block to ensure plenty of pressure. Take the time to wipe the glue off the edges here -- it will save you a lot of time later. |
